BIOGRAPHY
Hailed as one of the most notable Neapolitan artists of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Pratella was born in Lugo and studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna. He then traveled to Naples, where he studied with Domenico Morelli (1823–1901) and Filippo Palizzi (1818–1899) at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli. He exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1899 and met with much acclaim. Today his work can be found in the collections of the Museo di Capodimonte and the Galleria D'Arte Ricci Oddi.
