DAVID COX, JUNIOR

British, 1809–1885

BIOGRAPHY
Cox was the son of an artist but it cannot be said that they were equals. David Cox, Junior, although he had success as a painter, thrived more as a teacher. He sent 579 works to different institutions to be shown. He exhibited in London, mostly at the Society of Painters in Watercolours, between 1827 and 1884. In addition, he sent works to the Royal Academy, the Society of British Artists and the New Water-Colour Society.
