BIOGRAPHY
Clay was a painter of historical and domestic subjects, and also of portraits. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Suffolk Street, the Grafton Gallery, the Society of British Artists, the New Watercolor Society, and the New Gallery in London. Works by the artist are in the London Law Courts, the War Office and the London Museum.
