ALEXANDRE RENÉ VERON PAINTINGS FOR SALE & BIOGRAPHY

ALEXANDRE RENÉ VERON

French, 1826-1897

BIOGRAPHY
Alexandre René Veron studied with Paul Delaroche but, unlike his teacher, went on to dedicate himself to landscape painting. At a young age, Veron traveled to the Forest of Fontainebleau and made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1848 with Intérieur de femme à Marlotte and Étude de la Gorge-aux-Loups. He went on to paint numerous views in the Fontainebleau area. Veron developed a predilection for views along rivers and exhibited Les Bords de la Seine aux Andelys at the Salon of 1865, Les Bords de l’Oise à Auvers in 1865, and Les Bords de l’Albarine à Saint-Rampert-en-Bugey in 1884. He also painted the regions of Pontoise, Crécy-en-Brie, Senlis, Osny, Asnières, St-Valéry-sur-Somme and Argenteuil.
