Alice Judson

BIOGRAPHY
Alice Judson was born in Beacon, New York and while living in the city studied at the Art Student's League with John Henry Twachtman (1853 - 1902). She had a very active art career, which flourished in the twenties and thirties, and belonged to numerous Northeastern art associations including the North Shore Art Association, the Duchess County Art Association, Putnam County Art Association, Hudson Highlands Art Association, Pittsburgh Art Association, and Gloucester Society of Artists. She also was a member of the National Academy of Woman Painters and Sculptors, and the Society of Independent artists. A number of these organizations presented Judson with opportunities for the exhibition of her work” (The Cooley Gallery, Fine American Art, “Alice Judson”).
