Dreadnought was a three-masted clipper ship built in 1853 by Currier & Townsend in Newburyport, Massachusetts. She was originally intended for the "Racehorse Line" of California clippers, but ended up sailing for the Red Cross Line of New York and Liverpool packets. In 1860, she set a new record for New York to Liverpool of only 9 days, 17 hours.
