BIOGRAPHY
Mønsted is one of the most accomplished Danish painters of his generation. He studied at the Academy in Copenhagen from 1875 to 1879 and was a student at Peder Severin Krøyer's painting school.  He developed into a landscape painter through the influence of Andreas Fritz during a summer in Jutland.  He traveled widely in Italy, Switzerland, and France and Exhibited his works regularly at the Royal Academy in Charlottenborg.  Works by Monsted are in several museums including those in  Aalborg and Bautzen.
