This important work can be dated to circa 1870. There is no evidence that it was exhibited and is more likely to have been a commissioned work. Percy first exhibited a work entitled Bettws y Coed, in North Wales at the Norfolk and Norwich Association in 1852. Betws-y-Coed is a small town in the Conwy valley in the county borough of Conwy, north-west Wales. It lies in the Snowdonia National Park in a valley near the point where the River Conwy is joined by the River Llugwy and the River Lledr. We are grateful to Michael Knowles OBE for his assistance in the cataloguing of this work.
