BIOGRAPHY
Bevan studied at the Academie Julian in Paris and met Gauguin in 1894 in Pont-Aven. An animal painter who specialized in portraying horses, he was also a landscape painter and spent a lot of time in Poland, where he painted many views. He was a member of the New English Art Club from 1922 until his death. Gerald Schurr references him in particular for his drawings, which are comparable to the work of Seurat due to their harmony and three-dimensional power.
