William Graham, also known as William Grayham, was born in New York. Graham was active in San Francisco from 1853-74 with a studio on Sacramento Street. Little else is known of his life, except that he lived mostly abroad, and counted among his friends many famed painters, including Frederico Del Campo, Elihu Vedder and Charles Caryl Coleman.
Graham produced many Venetian scenes, and painted in other parts of Italy, Holland, Egypt, San Francisco and New York State. He exhibited at the Boston Art Club, the National Academy and the Pennsylvania Academy.
